She is scheduled to appear in court May 22.
Pilot Mountain man charged with two armed robberies
DOBSON -- Surry County authorities have charged a man in connection with two armed robberies Wednesday that occurred about 10 minutes apart.
Just before 1 p.m., a man pointed a blue-steel revolver at the clerk of the Neighbors Store on U.S. 601 in Dobson.
The clerk refused to comply with the robber's demand for cash, and the robber returned to his car.
The clerk tried to remove the license plate to the car but was struck by the robber, officials with the Surry County Sheriff's Office said.
The clerk was not seriously injured.
A few minutes later, a man with a handgun robbed the Level Cross Country Store, fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Witnesses in both cases described the robber's car as a white Buick Regal.
A Surry County deputy saw a car matching the description and pulled the car over just outside of Pilot Mountain. Inside the car, officers found a blue handgun and cash.
Lacy Daniels, 49, of Pilot Mountain, was charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, as well as fleeing to elude arrest, assault by pointing a gun, and carrying a concealed weapon.
Daniels was being held in the Surry County jail with bond set at $220,000.
Stokes sheriff's office gives identity of drowning victim
DANBURY -- The Stokes County Sheriff's Office identified yesterday the man who fell out a boat Monday and drowned in a farm pond off Ralph Tuttle Road.
Thomas Dale Fleming, 59, of 388 Valleyview Road in Thomasville was fishing with a relative when their boat capsized, authorities said earlier this week.
The relative then tried unsuccessfully to reach Fleming.
A member of Winston-Salem dive Team found Fleming on Tuesday in the pond.
An autopsy is planned, authorities said.
