Mount Tabor defeats Sanford 60-55 for 4-A title

C.J. Harris scored 20 points and Mount Tabor held off repeated rallies by Fayetteville Terry Sanford to win 60-55 on Saturday and claim its first Class 4-A North Carolina High School Athletic Association boys championship.

Josh Hicks added 14 points and Alex Fagg had 10 rebounds and nine points for the Spartans (31-1), who nearly blew a 17-point lead after the first quarter to win their 27th consecutive game.

Chris Wilson scored 16 points and Mike Mason had 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Bulldogs (28-4), who pulled within three points with 33 seconds remaining.
