Q. I am a 60-year-old unemployed, disabled veteran receiving a small monthly benefit and Supplemental Security Income. I can't pay my overdue property taxes, and the interest is growing every month. A. Call the county tax office and ask if they can work out a partial-payment plan. Pete Rodda, the tax assessor and collector, says they'd much rather work out something that's beneficial to both parties than to take action against a property owner.
