Many people are familiar with Spanish red Rioja as a generally affordable everyday wine. But the Rioja region also makes some satisfying white wine. The 2007 Marques de Caceres Rioja Blanco (Spain, $9) is a case in point, and a good value. Made from viura grapes, this dry white has a citrusy aroma with a touch of apricot. In the mouth, it's juicy and fruit-forward with lemon, apple mineral and herb flavors. It has good acidity, which makes for a crisp and clean finish. Served with boiled shrimp or grilled fish. Available at Whole Foods Market and other stores.
