Lexington man faces additional charge of child abuse

A 24-year-old Lexington man who was arrested last week for child abuse is facing additional charges of abusing another of his children, the Davidson County Sheriff's Office said.

Devin Lantz Sylvester of 198 Green Meadows Drive was charged with felony child abuse July 1 after his 45-day-old infant came to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center with a fractured left femur, the sheriff's office said.

The next day, detectives were notified that the twin sibling of the 45-day-old ihad multiple fractures, and Sylvester was charged with another count of felony child abuse. The sheriff's office did not release the gender of the children.

Sylvester in the Davidson County Jail with bond set at $250,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 14.
