Fireworks caused a fire on July 4 that damaged an unoccupied house near the UNC School of the Arts, authorities said today.
The fire at 1848 Chapel St. caused $36,500 in damage, the Winston-Salem Fire Department said. The fire started shortly after 10:15 p.m., and it took firefighters about 25 minutes to put it out.
The School of the Arts owns the house on Chapel Street.
