Kernersville Police have reopened the intersection of Sedge Garden Road at Union Cross Road.
Water that was used to fight an early-morning fire froze on the roadway, causing hazardous conditions. The road was closed for about seven hours.
Kernersville firefighters responded to a call at a home in the 1300 block of Union Cross Road at about 2 a.m. Eight people who were in the home at the time escaped without injury.
