»  Comments | Post a Comment

A judge today continued the case of Vernetta Cockerham-Ellerbee, a mother suing the town of Jonesville over her daughter's stabbing death.
Judge Edwin Wilson Jr. continued the civil trial until June 29, when a special session of Yadkin Superior Court begins.
Cockerham-Ellerbee alleges that the police department and two of its officers failed to protect her family after she took out a protective order against her estranged husband.
She filed the wrongful death suit Nov. 18, 2004, against the town and police.
