Winston-Salem Police have arrested a Kernersville man in connection with several breaking-and-entering incidents at businesses over the last month.
James Williams Edwards, 35, 408 Prince Haven Lane, Kernersville, was arrested at his house Wednesday and charged with 10 counts of breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering.
Edwards was arrested for a breaking and entering that happened at Huffs Shell on South Broad Street. A search warrant was issued, and police found tools and clothing in Edwards' home. Many of the businesses that Edwards is charged with breaking into are convenience stores and gas stations near downtown Winston-Salem.
Some of the items stolen from those businesses include cash, cash registers and tools, according to police.
Edwards is being held at the Forsyth County Jail under a $600,000 bond.
