I would like to propose a Congressional Cash for Clunkers program established by private citizens who would pay certain members of Congress and others in the executive and judicial branches an early retirement cash payout to get rid of them forever.
The amount of the payoff would be determined by the discounted cash-flow value of savings to the American people by eliminating these idiots from the process of establishing any more laws and other nefarious actions that threaten our rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Right on target
The Journal editorial ("Foxx does it again," Aug. 1) was right on target: Rep. Foxx has embarrassed North Carolina yet again with a stupid comment that amounts to a crude attempt at fear-mongering. Government putting senior citizens to death?
The assumption here is that District 5 constituents are simple enough to believe any rubbish uttered by an elected official, no matter how ridiculous. The alternative interpretation is that Rep. Foxx actually believes such nonsense -- a much more disturbing possibility.

Unresearched and uneducated
I was displeased to read the Aug. 1 editorial "Foxx does it again" about Rep. Virginia Foxx on my computer's home page. Although Foxx's comments were startling, I sincerely doubt that they were made in the context that the Journal espoused. Seniors and disabled citizens have much to fear from the Obama administration's health-care plans. The administration's concern is only for the young and healthy. It is not for the elderly or disabled.
We are not Europe. Americans have always taken care of their disabled and respected and cared for their elderly. AARP and certain others sold out for political gain -- they are not interested in the elderly that they purportedly represent and have not been for the past 15 years, since AARP began dallying with the politicians for financial gain.
It is because of unresearched and uneducated opinions such as the Journal voiced that newspapers across the country are dying. Do not presume to preach to American citizens -- they are not as stupid as the supposed elite contend. The elderly have a right to fear the Obama administration's changes -- their very lives depend on the quality of care that will no longer be available under Obama's plans.
