Another North Carolina-grown tree from Ashe County will be displayed in the White House during Christmas holidays this year.
The North Carolina Department of Agriculture said Friday that a Fraser fir grown by River Ridge Farms of Crumpler will grace the White House Blue Room this year. It's the third time in four years a North Carolina fir has been selected.
River Ridge Farms' tree was selected after the farm won the top grower award from the National Christmas Tree Association.
White House staff will visit the North Carolina portion of the farm Oct. 21 to select a tree.
One of the farm's partners, Jessie Davis, said being selected to send a tree to the presidential mansion "is like winning the Super Bowl for a tree farmer."
