Young American journalists feared missing in Lebanon

»  Comments | Post a Comment

BEIRUT, Lebanon -- Two American journalists vacationing in Lebanon have not been heard from since Oct. 1, the U.S. Embassy said yesterday, appealing for information on their whereabouts.

Holli Chmela, 27, and Taylor Luck, 23, have been working for the Jordan Times and had been expected back in Amman on Saturday, the paper's chief editor said.

The embassy said that the two apparently left Beirut for Tripoli, a predominantly Sunni Muslim city where there has been sectarian fighting and bombings in recent months.
