FORT BRAGG
Officials at Fort Bragg plan to kick off a weeklong anti-terrorism exercise that will include a simulated shooter and chemical and IED attacks.
The Army exercise is called Orbit Comet and will run Monday through Friday. Fort Bragg officials say the exercise may cause traffic disruptions and limitations to base access on Monday and Tuesday.
A statement said the exercise is held annually to test the post's command and communication systems, its protective measures and its ability to respond to an emergency.
Part of the exercise will involve announcements on the public address system. Officials said all role players will be clearly identified.
