Two of the three men accused of kidnapping and robbing a Kernersville woman last month are also suspects in a robbery and attempted robbery that took place near Wake Forest University the same week, authorities say.
Authorities are looking for Orlando Joshua Wesley, 17, of 4210 Brownsboro Road, Apt. 55, in Winston-Salem. The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office has issued an arrest warrant for him on charges of felony kidnapping, armed robbery, first-degree burglary and felony possession of a stolen vehicle, officials said yesterday.
Investigators also linked Eric Carlyle Farmer Jr., 16, of 1241 Shouse Blvd. and Demario Andrew Johnson, 18, of 4356 Breck Ave., both of Winston-Salem, to the kidnapping. Farmer and Johnson have been arrested and were charged Wednesday with felony kidnapping and armed robbery, the sheriff's office said.
All three men are charged in the kidnapping and robbing a Kernersville woman outside her home Oct. 29, police said.
The woman was taken from the 1200 block of Pine Knolls Road at gunpoint, authorities said. She was later found unharmed in the trunk of a stolen car.
Investigators also linked Farmer and Wesley with two incidents that occurred last month near the campus of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem.
They are accused of robbing a female WFU student Oct. 28 at an off-campus apartment on Scholastic Drive after threatening her with a handgun, Winston-Salem police said.
The two are also accused of attempting to rob a man on Brookwood Drive near campus on Oct. 27.
Police said that Farmer was charged with armed robbery and attempted armed robbery.
Wesley is wanted on the same charges.
Taking part in the investigation were detectives with the Winston-Salem Police Department, the Kernersville Police Department, the Wilkesboro Police Department and the sheriff's office.
WFU officials took steps to increase security on campus after the robberies.
Farmer and Johnson were being held last night in the Forsyth County Jail, with their bond set at $250,000 each.
They are scheduled to appear in court Dec. 5.
