Democrats win two seats on Alleghany Board of Commissioners

In the race for two seats on the Alleghany Board of Commissioners, Democrat Steve Roten and Democrat incumbent Ken Richardson won with 2,752 votes and 2,381, respectively. Republicans Chuck Billings and William Caudill trailed with 2,223 and 1,423. Gleason James, who is unaffiliated, received 827 votes.
Democrat incumbent Lizabeth R. Roupe won another four-year term as register of deeds with 3,578 votes. Doris Tolliver, who is unaffiliated, received 1,327 votes.
In the race for two seats on the Alleghany Board of Education, Democrat incumbent Faron Atwood and Republican Steven Williams won with 2,995 and 2,848 votes, respectively. Brad Mabe, a Democrat, lost with 2,822.
Incumbent Bobby Evans received 2,211 votes to win soil and water conversation supervisor. Randy Edwards trailed with 2,029 votes. The race was nonpartisan.
