BEAVER
CLEMMONS -- Ralph G. Beaver, 75, passed away Monday, May 19, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on April 29, 1933 in Asheville, N.C., to Charles E. and Lydia Buchanan Beaver. He was preceded in death by his parents and five of his brothers and sisters: Fred R. Beaver, Charles E. Beaver, Jr., Harry D. Beaver, Maxine B. Teague and Betty B. Pugh. Ralph served his country in the Navy during the cold war years. He had a lifelong love of sports, which began with football. He was a high-school All-American, played in the NC Shrine Bowl, then played for UNC while a student there. He lived most of his adult life in Wilkesboro, NC, where he retired from Carolina Mirror Corp., was active in his church, Lions Club and most importantly active with his family. He had a big heart and sacrificed a lot of himself to care for his wife during her serious illness the last few years. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sue Norman Beaver, daughter Libby Osborne and husband Blaine of Kernersville, and grandson Evan Osborne. Also surviving is his sister, Juanita Dixon of Asheville, and a large and loving extended family. A special thanks goes to the staff of Clemmons Village I who have become like family, for their love and time with dad. A memorial service was conducted Friday, May 23, 2008 at First United Methodist Church in North Wilkesboro, with a visitation immediately after. The family requests memorials to the N.C. ERLACHER
CLEMMONS -- Graham Erlacher, 83, of Clemmons passed away Monday evening, May 19, 2008, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born Aug. 14, 1924, in Milford, Conn., to Margaret and Paul Erlacher. Graham was an outstanding athlete in high school and college, playing football, baseball and basketball. At 17, he enlisted to serve his country in the U.S. Navy on a destroyer escort during World War II in both the Atlantic and Pacific. After the war, Graham attended Elon College, graduating in 1950. He served the U.S. Federal Court as a court reporter for 30 years. He started Graham Erlacher and Associates, a deposition and court reporting service. Graham enjoyed horseback riding and working outdoors. He was an active member of St. Timothy' s Episcopal Church from its earliest days. He was a loving and loyal husband, father and grandfather. Graham is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mildred Johnson Erlacher; his daughter, Kim, and her husband, Graham Johnston, of Winston-Salem; his son, Gray Erlacher, and his wife, Karen, of Dillingham, Alaska; a brother, Paul Erlacher Jr., and wife Lesley of Milford; plus several nieces and nephews. He had five grandchildren, Alex and Auburn Johnston, Nicholas Johnston, Marianne Johnston, Trevor and Megan Erlacher and Claine Erlacher. A memorial service was held Saturday, May 24, at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church at 2575 Parkway Drive, Winston-Salem. The family will greet friends in the church hall after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to St. Timothy's or to a charitable organization of the donor' s choice. The family is especially grateful to the caring nurses, staff and physicians at Forsyth Medical Center.
HALL
MOCKSVILLE -- Mr. Dana Christopher Hall, 46, of Milling Road, Mocksville, died Tuesday, May 20, 2008. He was born Sept. 22, 1961, in Davie County to Ona Gray R. Hall and the late Joe Jackson Hall. Mr. Hall was a member of Smith Grove United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in a gospel quartet for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching his son, Jacob, play sports. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Hall. Survivors include his mother of Mocksville; a daughter, Erin (Wade) Smith of Kernersville; two sons, Christopher Hall of Winston-Salem and Jacob Hall of Advance; two grandchildren, Matthew and Katelyn Smith; a sister, Julie Hall of Mocksville; Erin and Christopher' s mother, Yolande Miller of Kernersville; Jacob' s mother, Tammy Hall of Advance; his dear niece and nephew, Erika Hall and Michael Jones; and many very close aunts, uncles and cousins. A funeral service was conducted Friday, May 23, at Eaton Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Tim Roberts and the Rev. Chris Clontz officiating. Interment followed in Smith Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be considered for the American Heart Association, Memorials and Tributes Processing Center, P.O. CLEMMONS -- Mr. Michael Dwight Harris, 61, of Clemmons passed away Sunday, May 18, 2008, at his home. He was born in Guilford County on May 14, 1947, to Dwight and Aritha Jones Harris. Mr. Harris served in the U.S. Air Force and later worked as an insurance adjuster. He is survived by his wife, Christina M. Harris; five sons, William, Arthur, Andrew, Samuel and James; and a grandson, Tyler. A graveside service was conducted Thursday, May 22, at Parklawn Memorial Park, with E. MOCKSVILLE -- Chasdadi Michelle Stroud, 32, died Sunday, May 18, 2008. A funeral was held Wednesday, May 21, at Davie Funeral Service in Mocksville.
