CLEMMONS -- A man died yesterday when his car ran off the right side of Frye Bridge Road and hit a tree, the N.C. Highway Patrol said.
Milbourne Legrand Joye III, 25, of 5321 Sterling Forest Drive was alone and driving east on Frye Bridge Road when the wreck occurred about 4:09 a.m., said Trooper Eric Naylor.
The wreck happened just before the turn that led to the house where Joye lived with his parents, Naylor said.
Joye's car ran off the road and hit the corner of a driveway, then crossed over several yards before hitting a cable television box, Naylor said. Joye's car was turning over when it then hit a tree and broke in two, he said. Joye died at the scene.
Naylor said that the highway patrol is waiting for the results of an autopsy and is still investigating the crash.
