»  Comments | Post a Comment

Are you looking for an activity for the whole family? The West Forsyth YMCA will sponsor a Christian Concert at 6 p.m. Aug. 9 on the back lawn.

Chris Sligh, a former American Idol Contestant, and Grits, a Hip-Hop Band, will perform.

Bring a lawn chair or blanket, pack a picnic dinner or enjoy the refreshments that will be available for purchase.

The YMCA will also have inflatables and games for the children to enjoy. The admission cost is $15. All children under 5 will be admitted free.

All proceeds go to Partner With Youth Campaign. With community support, the annual campaign provides scholarship money for deserving youth, families and seniors.

By supporting the Partner With Youth Campaign, you ensure that everyone, regardless of circumstances or ability to pay, can benefit from YMCA programs and services. The Partner With Youth Campaign pays for such important programs as child care, day and overnight camp, membership, teen leadership programs, adult literacy, swim lessons, and senior programs.

In 2006, 16,892 individuals will participate at the YMCA through the Open Doors Scholarship Program, valued at more than $3.1 million.

The event will be held rain or shine. Tickets may be purchased at Southern Community Bank and Trust, Hanes Mall or the West Forsyth YMCA. Parking will be provided at the YMCA.

Overflow parking will also be provided. Call 734-1016 or 712-2000 for more information.
