Kirk Alan Turner, the Clemmons dentist who faces a first-degree-murder charge in the death of his wife, was released on bond Friday.
Last Thursday, Judge Kimberly Taylor of Davie Superior Court set his bond at $1 million.
On Dec. 13, Turner was indicted on a first-degree murder charge, three months after the body of his estranged wife, Jennifer Jean Wittwer Turner, was found in a shop building near the couple's house at 627 Jack Booe Road.
Her throat was cut twice, prosecutors have said. Turner's attorneys argue that Jennifer Turner attacked Kirk Turner with a spear, and that he acted in self-defense.
Last week, prosecutors decided not to pursue the death penalty.
Turner will be allowed to go back to work at his dental practice in Clemmons, but he cannot leave the country and must get permission from the District Attorney's Office to leave the state.
