RALEIGH
North Carolina's governor and governor-elect will be among the state executives at a meeting with President-elect Barack Obama to discuss how the economic crisis is affecting states.
Gov. Mike Easley's office said he will attend the meeting Tuesday in Philadelphia. Easley is interested in federal money for roads and bridges and sharing information about the state's emergency foreclosure reduction program.
Gov.-elect Beverly Perdue also plans to attend the meeting.
In addition, North Carolina House Speaker Joe Hackney has asked Obama to include funding for the states in an economic stimulus package. Hackney is president of the National Conference of State Legislatures.
The meeting is being hosted by National Governors Association Chairman Ed Rendell at Independence Hall.
