Kirk Alan Turner, the Clemmons dentist accused of killing his wife, was denied bond in a hearing yesterday morning in Davidson Superior Court.
The hearing was held in Davidson County because no court sessions were held yesterday in Davie County, where Turner was indicted on a charge of first-degree murder in connection with the death of his wife, Jennifer Turner.
The body of Jennifer Turner was found Sept. 12 in a shop building on the property at 627 Booe Road that she once shared with her husband. The couple separated more than a year ago, and Kirk Turner had filed for divorce.
Investigators say that Jennifer Turner was found with knife wounds in her neck. Kirk Turner had multiple stab wounds in his thigh and groin, civil-court papers filed in Davie County said.
Chuck Alexander, Kirk Turner's attorney, said that there would be another bond-reduction hearing if prosecutors decided not to pursue a capital murder case. Turner is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 28.
