Suicidal thoughts topic of therapist's new book
Author Marge Manes-Doty will sign copies of her new book, "No One Ever Held Me When I Cried," at 11 a.m. Saturday at Barnhill's Books-Wine-Art-Gifts, 811 Burke St. The book tells the story of Deborah Hinkle, 58, who is experiencing suicidal thoughts, as she has off and on throughout her life.
Manes-Doty drew on 25 years of experience as a marriage-family therapist and addiction specialist.

Cat, dog and children's stories take center stage at Mill Stone
There will be a dual reading and book signing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Mill Stone General Store and Gallery, 5455 Bethania Road, Bethania.
Michele M. Manderine, who writes about cats and children's tales, and Libby Bagby, a dog-book author, will be reading excerpts and autographing copies of their work. The event is free to the public.
