Animals to highlight symphony concert
The Winston-Salem Symphony will present "Symphony Safari: Carnival of the Animals" at 2 p.m. Saturday at the K.R. Williams Auditorium on the Winston-Salem State University campus.
The concert will feature music from Camille Saint-Saëns' "Carnival of Animals." Pre-concert activities begin at 1 p.m. and include games and the opportunity to interact with animals from the North Carolina Zoo and the Forsyth Humane Society.
Tickets are $9, $5 for ages 3 to 12, and ages 2 and younger free.

Baroque Orchestra to feature Bach works
Old Salem Museums & Gardens will present a concert by the North Carolina Baroque Orchestra at 3 p.m. Jan. 29 in the James A. Gray Jr. Auditorium at the Old Salem Visitor Center, 900 Old Salem Road.
The concert will feature J.S. Bach's Brandenburg Concertos 4 and 5, as well as works by Antonio Bertali, Heinrich Schütz and George Frideric Handel.

Classes to start for young music makers
"Little Music Makers" winter classes will begin Jan. 31 and meet on four Tuesdays through Feb. 28 at High Point Friends Meeting, 800 Quaker Lane. No class is scheduled for Feb. 21. The classes are intended for children 18 months to 5 years and will instruct children in singing and how to play an instrument with an adult partner.
There will be two class times offered: 11:15 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. The cost is $15 for the four-week program.

UNCSA concert marks Mozart's birthday
The annual "Mozart Birthday Concert" will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Watson Hall on UNC School of the Arts campus. Members of the School of Music faculty will perform chamber music in celebration of Mozart's 256th birthday.
Admission is $15 or $13 for students and seniors.
