Wine Pick: La Joya Cabernet Sauvignon

»  Comments | Post a Comment

La Joya Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2009 La Joya Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon (Colchagua Valley, Chile, $11) is an enjoyable everyday cab at an everyday price. It starts with aromas of cherries and blackberries. On the palate are more blackberries, mixed with a little tar and cloves. The tannins are smooth, and the finish offers a hint of coffee. This red is not overly complex, but it is well-made — a nice cab for the price. Serve with burgers, steaks and other red meats. Available at The Fresh Market.
