Reynolda House link to Olmsted explored
Camilla Wilcox, curator of education at Reynolda Gardens, will talk about Frederick Law Olmsted's design influence on the Reynolda House landscape at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Reynolda House Museum of American Art.
Olmsted is considered the father of American landscape architecture. The grounds of Reynolda House were designed in the best "Country Place Era" tradition, and many of the designers of the estate worked with the firm founded by Olmsted.
Admission is $5 or free to Reynolda members, students and Friends of Reynolda Gardens.

Enrollment open for 2012 Bee School
The Forsyth County Beekeepers Association is starting its 2012 Bee School.
Classes will meet from 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 25, March 3, 17, 24, 31, and April 14 at the Forsyth County Agricultural Building, 1450 Fairchild Road.
Buddy Marterre, a master apiarist, will teach the course. A Bee Yard Day and practical and written exam will be included for those who would like to become a certified beekeeper. The cost is $50 per person. Enrollment is limited to 120 students.

Workshop to cover artisan cheese making
A workshop on the history and the process of making artisan cheese will begin at 10 a.m. Feb. 25 at the Single Brothers' Workshop, 10 W. Academy St., Old Salem.
Steve Tate, co-founder of Goat Lady Dairy in Climax, will explore artisan cheese, one of the earliest manufactured foods, and its production around the world. In the event of bad weather and Old Salem Museums & Gardens is closed, the workshop will be canceled.
The workshop is free to the public, but donations of nonperishable food will be accepted and given to the Second Harvest Food Bank.
