Music Briefs: UNCSA chancellor to celebrate composer

John Mauceri, the chancellor of UNC School of the Arts, will participate in an event celebrating the life of film composer Bernard Herrmann in New York City this month.

The event, sponsored by WQXR, will take place at 7 p.m. June 29 in the station's Greene Space. It will feature music, film clips and conversations designed to celebrate Herrmann's 100th birthday.

Mauceri, also a conductor, is an expert on American film music.
