Wine: Brushy Mountain Winery 2009 Chardonnay.
Cost: $18.
Review: Brushy Mountain Winery, a small winery in downtown Elkin, makes a smooth and buttery chardonnay that is fermented in stainless-steel tanks and made smooth through malolactic fermentation, then aged in French oak barrels. The wine has ample apple, pear and buttery aromas. The lush fruit continues on the palate, along with butterscotch and a bit of spice on the finish. Serve with chicken or seafood in cream sauce. Available at the winery. For more information, visit www.brushy
