• What it's about: Her poetry and the poetry of friends, her political and religious views, African-American history, NASCAR. "And anything else I want to write about."

• What she does for a living: Former English teacher and homemaker. Now retired. She is the poetry editor for the Dead Mule School of Southern Literature.

• Why she blogs: To promote poetry. "And because I have something to say that just might change the world."
