Robot comics to slay giant, audiences

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Those wisecrackers from "Mystery Science Theater 3000" are back, and this time they're on the big screen.

On Wednesday, the Greensboro Grande Stadium 16 will be one of 500 theaters across the nation simulcasting a live performance from Nashville by Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett from the series. "Rifftrax Live: Jack the Giant Killer" has the trio riffing on "Jack the Giant Killer," a goofy 1962 fantasy film about a young farmhand who rescues a princess from various monsters.

The performance will also include a new short by the trio, and additional animated shorts. Audience members will get a code to download digital extras after the live event, including a downloadable short and photos.
