GRAND DAME:
Helen Mirren is an award-winning machine, with an Oscar and multiple Emmys, Golden Globes, BAFTA and SAG awards to prove it. One of her most acclaimed roles on British television was in the long-running crime drama Prime Suspect. In it, she played Jane Tennison, a brilliant but troubled police detective. Seven seasons aired between 1991 and 2006, and they are all included in Prime Suspect: The Complete Collection, a nine-DVD boxed set from Acorn Media. HEROIC ACTION:
Two big video games are out this week and next. In Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions (for most systems) you can play various alternate-universe versions of the web-slinging hero, from the regular Marvel Universe version to a "steampunk" version to the futuristic Spidey from the Spider-Man 2099 comic book series. Next week, Halo: Reach comes out for the Xbox 360, with more adventures in humankind's battle against alien armada The Covenant. This one is a prequel to the original game, following members of an elite squadron known as The Spartans.
