The Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art and Krankies Coffee will present Beautiful Losers at 7 p.m. Thursday at Krankies Werehouse, 211 E. Third St. The film, directed by Aaron Rose and co-directed by Joshua Leonard, features a loose-knit group of like-minded outsiders in New York, who found common ground with their do-it-yourself subcultures of skateboarding, surf, punk, hip-hop and graffiti, and the art they created reflecting their lifestyles.
Beautiful Losers is the first in the Art Grind film series that will feature documentary and independent films that reflect upon the nature of art, music, creativity, ingenuity and the human spirit. Each screening is free and open to the public.
