The Piedmont Slam will meet at 8 p.m. Thursday at Krankies Coffee, 211 E. Third St. The evening will start with an open-mike session. The featured artist will be local poet and Piedmont Slam Team member Nell Britton.
At 9 p.m., there will be a slam. This month's session will be open to female competitors only. The winner will compete March 10 through 13 in the Women of the World Poetry Slam in the Columbus, Ohio. The Piedmont Slam will pay for travel and accommodation expenses.
