Music Brief: Marine quartet to play Wednesday at UNCSA

"The President's Own" United States Marine Saxophone Quartet will present a free performance at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Watson Hall at UNC School of the Arts.

The program will feature Thierry Escaich's Le Bal and Phanos Dymiotis' Ballade. Also on the program will be David Froom's arrangement of Radiohead's "Pyramid Song" and Bill Holcombe's arrangements of selections from Gershwin's Porgy and Bess.

The Marine Saxophone Quartet is one of several ensembles formed from within "The President's Own" United States Marine Band to present chamber concerts and educational clinics. Members of the quartet perform regularly as part of the Marine Chamber Orchestra and Marine Chamber Ensembles, and are frequently featured as soloists.
