Knight and Day” (PG-13): In this frothy romantic adventure, Cameron Diaz plays June, a woman who gets mixed up in an international adventure with a handsome spy (Tom Cruise). Marc Blucas, a Wake Forest University basketball star turned actor, co-stars as June’s clingy ex-boyfriend. Extras include featurettes and a making-of documentary.

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” (PG): The animated segment from the classic Disney musical “Fantasia” provides tenuous inspiration for this rather generic live-action comedy-adventure. Jay Baruchel plays the title character, a nerdy guy who learns that he has magical powers. Nicolas Cage plays his mentor, a seasoned wizard, and Alfred Molina plays an evil rival sorcerer. Extras include deleted scenes, outtakes, and featurettes.

Fantasia and Fantasia 2000” (G): The original short “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” with Mickey Mouse as an eager-but-incompetent wizard-in-training, is one of the highlights of the 1940 Disney classic “Fantasia,” a series of musical shorts. Both the 1940 film and its 2000 sequel are included in this new special edition, available on DVD and Blu-ray, with plenty of extras and shorts, including the rare Disney/Salvador Dali collaboration “Destino.” Other new Disney releases this week include three documentaries: “Waking Sleeping Beauty,” about internal struggles at Disney’s animation studio in the time between Walt Disney’s death and the studio’s resurgence with such hits as “The Little Mermaid” and “The Lion King”; “The Boys: The Sherman Brothers Story,” about prolific Oscar-winning brothers who wrote many classic songs from Disney movies; and “Walt & El Grupo,” about Walt’s 1941 goodwill tour of Latin America.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” (PG-13): The third film in the angsty Twilight series, about a human woman torn between two suitors, a brooding vampire and a hunky werewolf, comes to DVD and Blu-ray on Saturday. And this week also sees the release of “Vampires Suck,” a spoof of the Twilight films.

Also New This Week: “Going the Distance,” a romantic comedy with Justin Long and Drew Barrymore as a young couple trying to keep their relationship alive despite the long commute between his home in New York and hers in San Francisco; “Samantha: An American Girl Holiday,” the latest installment in the wholesome series based on the American Girl line of dolls and books; “A Touch of Frost: Season 15,” with David Jason as a British detective; “Iron Man Extremis,” a motion comic based on a popular storyline from the Iron Man comic books; “Cairo Time,” a poignant romance starring Patricia Clarkson and Alexander Siddig that recently played here at Aperture Cinema; “Valhalla Rising,” a stylish drama about a Viking warrior (Mads Mikkelsen) in 1000 A.D.; “The Sicilian Girl,” a fact-based Italian drama bout a girl who breaks the Mafia vow of silence; and “The Special Relationship,” a drama about the friendship between Bill Clinton and Tony Blair (Michael Sheen, reprising his role from “The Deal” and “The Queen”).
