Music Brief: Poetry and jazz interpretation of Jonah is on the bill at Green Street

The story of Jonah will be told through poetry and jazz at 7 p.m. tonight in Green Street Church, 639 S. Green St.

The Rev. Kelly Carpenter and Rabbi Mark Strauss-Cohn will speak the words they wrote for the presentation.

The jazz will come courtesy of double-bass player Matt Kendrick, pianist Karen Kendrick, drummer John Wilson, trumpeter Lynn Grissett and vocalist Diana Tuffin. These musicians will play such tunes as "All Blues," "Night in Tunisa" and "St. James Infirmary."

The performance is free and open to the public, but donations will be solicited. For more information, call 722-8379.
