Theater Briefs: Blowing Rock production features local folklore

The Blowing Rock Stage Company 2009 Interns will present an outdoor production of Jack in the Park Tales on Thursdays and Sundays, June 25-July 25, at the Annie Cannon Gardens, downtown Blowing Rock.

The stage production, directed by Derek Gagnier, is an adaptation by John Crutchfield of more than 200 years of Appalachian Mountain folklore.

Show times are 10 a.m. for each Thursday performance and 11 a.m. for each Sunday performance.

Admission is free.
