Mocksville author John Snyder will discuss and sign copies of his new book, The Golden Ring: A Christmas Story, at two area stores this week.
From noon until 4 p.m. Tuesday, he will be at the gift shop at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. From noon until 4 pm. Saturday, he will be at Borders, 3605 High Point Road in Greensboro.
The Golden Ring is set in 1918 in a small Pennsylvania town and is based on a tale told to Snyder by his grandmother. He describes it as a "story about giving, faith, love and loss." It has received positive reviews from The Washington Times and the AFA Journal, a publication of the American Family Association.

Author McMillian to sign books at Edward McKay
Leigh Somerville McMillan will discuss and sign copies of her novel, It All Started With a Dog, from 4 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Edward McKay Used Books & More, 115 Oakwood Drive.
Transformation takes many forms. In the case of Rachel Springer, a happily single lawyer living in Washington, it arrives in the shape of dog with much to share.

Cameron Kent to read from new novel, sign copies
Cameron Kent will read from and sign copies of his new novel at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Gallery of the Arts, 411 W. Fourth St.
The Road to Devotion is set in the Winston, N.C., community on the eve of the Civil War. It follows a young woman who finds herself dangerously out of step with those around her when she questions the morality of slavery.
Kent is the news anchor at TV station WXII and the author of books including When the Ravens Die.
