Open-mike poetry reading is scheduled for library
The Word Is Out open-mike poetry reading will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Forsyth County Central Library, 660 W. Fifth St.
Admission is free.
Those interested in poetry and the spoken word may read their own or others' works, or just listen.
Tha Truth, a spoken-word artist, will be the host. The optional theme will be "Determination."

Evening with Gray, Hamel at Village Smith Galleries
Village Smith Galleries in Reynolda Village will present "An Evening with Bowman Gray and Beverly Hamel" from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday.
Admission is free.
Photographs by Gray will be on view, some of them from Hamel's book, Bethania: The Village by the Black Walnut Bottom. Hamel will read from and sign copies of Bethania, which traces the 250-year history of North Carolina's first planned Moravian settlement through autobiographical accounts, letters and images.
