I Love You, Man (Unrated): Paul Rudd and Jason Segel star in this "bromantic comedy" about a guy looking for a male best friend to serve as best man at his wedding. Much of the humor revolves around awkward social situations. The film includes guest turns by Lou Ferrigno, Kinston native Jamie Pressly, and Thomas Lennon of Reno 911.The DVD and Blu-ray have extras including commentary, extended and deleted scenes, and a gag reel.
17 Again (PG): Another movie, another scene-stealing supporting role by Thomas Lennon, this time as the best friend of likeable schlub Mike (Matthew Perry). Hitting midlife crisis a few years early, Mike laments his lost youth, but wouldn't you know it, he gets a second chance to kid around when he is magically transformed into a 17-year-old. The young Mike is played by a fellow named Zac Efron, who was in some movies about high schoolers doing musical stuff. The DVD has no extras, while the Blu-ray boasts that it is "Packed With Zac!" with 30 minutes of Efron-heavy extras. Other extras include a trivia subtitle track.
Alien Trespass (PG): Eric McCormack and Robert Patrick star in this playful, stylish homage to science fiction films of the 1950s, which was produced and directed by R.W. Goodwin (The X-Files). Extras include featurettes, faux news reports, interviews and deleted scenes.
Dark Rising (Unrated): This Canadian comedy-fantasy adventure follows an average joe who gets mixed up in cross-dimensional hijinks involving a demon, a warrior babe, and pro wrestler Christian Cage. DVD extras include commentary, featurettes and a photo gallery.
The Wild Man of the Navidad (Unrated): The titular Wild Man of this film is a Bigfoot-like creature that has been seen in Texas dating back to the 19th century. The movie, set in 1975, is a throwback to drive-in horror films of the '70s, and was produced by one of the writers of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The DVD is loaded with extras including interviews, test footage, commentary and more.
London to Brighton (R): A prostitute and an 11-year-old runaway try to evade a sadistic, pedophile mobster in this intense British drama. DVD extras include deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes footage and an alternate ending.
