C'MON, GET HOPPY: A highlight of the annual Summertime Brews Festival at the Greensboro Coliseum is the beer poured by local home-brew clubs, including Winston-Salem's own Wort Hawgs -- you won't find their beer in stores or bars. North Carolina will also be represented by breweries from around the state -- French Broad and Highland brewing companies from Asheville, Boone Brewing Company, Raleigh's Big Boss Brewing Company -- joined by beer makers and brew nerds from around the country. For $25, you get a glass and four hours of sampling from 4 to 8 p.m. For more information, check out www.rock92.com.

BEST … COVER MODEL … EVER: The 12th season of The Simpsons comes to DVD on Tuesday with one of the show's funniest supporting characters front and center on the cover. Yes, it's Jeff Albertson, a.k.a. Comic Book Guy, the hypercritical nerd who would be the first to tell you that The Simpsons was on the decline by season 12. Despite what he says, it's another fun season, although admittedly there is an episode in the set actually titled "Worst Episode Ever." Each episode has commentary, and the DVD set also includes test footage, deleted scenes and Easter eggs.
