Sports Briefs: Phillies pick up $9 million option for staff ace Lee
The Philadelphia Phillies have picked up Cliff Lee's $9 million option for 2010, announcing the expected move yesterday. Lee's contract expires after next season, but General Manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said that the team is open to signing him to a long-term deal.
