The Queen's office published her latest accounts yesterday. It showed that the costs incurred by the royal family were $68.6 million in the year to March 31.
■ The father of Michael Jackson says he does not believe stress over the intense series of concerts the King of Pop planned for his comeback led to his death. Joe Jackson also said in an interview airing yesterday that he believes his son will be larger in death than he was in life. The patriarch of the Jackson 5 said he wished Michael Jackson were around to see the outpouring of affection since his death. On Saturday, the cardiologist who was with Jackson during his final moments sat down with investigators for three hours. His spokeswoman said he is not a suspect in the death. Dr. Conrad Murray "helped identify the circumstances around the death of the pop icon and clarified some inconsistencies," his spokeswoman, Miranda Sevcik, said. She said the doctor remains "a witness to this tragedy."

He will wind up his American Top 40 spinoff programs, American Top 20 and American Top 10, on July 4 -- a date of significance: He created the franchise on July 4, 1970. "Hosting various versions of my countdown program has kept me extremely busy, and I loved every minute of it," Kasem, 77, said in a statement. "However, this decision will free up time I need to focus on myriad other projects." But that famous voice (he also provided the vocals for Shaggy on the Scooby Doo cartoon series) will live on. His classic 1970s and 1980s AT40 countdowns will continue to be distributed by syndicator Premiere Radio Networks.
