The Winston-Salem State University Gay-Straight Student Alliance will present a program 6-8:30 p.m. Friday in Dillard Auditorium on the university campus, 601 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. PFLAG Winston-Salem is the co-sponsor.
The HBO documentary film, Middle Sexes: Redefining He and She, will be shown, followed by a panel discussion, "The Transgender Experience: Manifestation of the Inner Being." Ethan Hutchinson, Parker Hurley, Natasha Moore, Deanna Jones, Rahzeen Peechez Wilson and Ledon Lopez will be on the panel. The panel includes female-to-male and male-to-female transgender people.
The following will be discussed:
• The legal and political rights of transgender people
• Creating a more trans-inclusive campus
• Medical- and mental-health care for transgender people
• Campus housing policies for transgender students

The Piedmont Triad Singles will hold an end-of-summer dance party from 8 p.m. to midnight Friday at George K's, 2108 Cedar Fork Drive (corner of Holden and High Point roads), Greensboro.
A deejay will play beach, '70s, old-time rock 'n' roll, disco, a little country, and some line-dance music for dancing.
