Theater Briefs: Auditions

•The Adventures of Tom Sawyer:
The 2009 Living Storybook will hold auditions from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Stokes Community Services Auditorium, 700 N. Main St., Danbury. There are roles available for Stokes County students, grades five through 12. Those auditioning should be prepared to read from a script and sing.

•The Salisbury Symphony Orchestra will hold auditions Sept. 20 at the Williams Music Building on the campus of Catawba College. There are positions for third bass and auxiliary clarinet; principal bassoon; second bassoon; assistant principal viola; and any instrument for substitute list. Those auditioning will be asked to play a prepared piece of their choice, excerpts of the music director's choice and sight-reading.
