Prep Playoffs Roundup: Reagan girls place fourth in 4-A golf

NCHSAA golf

Class 4-A: Reagan shot 259 yesterday to finish fourth in the state championship at the West Course of the Foxfire Golf and Country Club in Pinehurst.
Senior Katherine Perry of Raleigh Athens Drive fired a two-under par 71 to come from behind to take the individual title and helped lead Athens Drive to the team title.
Perry finished with a 144, four shots better than Allison Emrey of Charlotte Ardrey Kell, the defending champion. Kristi Ingram of Mount Tabor shot 81 to finish 11th, Hannah Craver of Reagan was 16th, and Erica Clinard of Reynolds was 20th.

Class 3-A/2-A/1-A: West Henderson's Kayla Scuipider held on to win the individual championship yesterday at Longleaf Golf and Country Club in Southern Pines.
Scuipider, who finished tied for third last year, had a 4-over 75 to go with an opening round 74, three shots ahead of the field. Gastonia Ashbrook's Megan Burnham, who had yesterday's best round with a 72, and Andrea Robbins of Climax Providence Grove tied for second.
Leslie Long of Forbush finished tied for 14th.

In the team standings, West Henderson rallied from eight shots down to win the title by eight over Salisbury. Hampstead Topsail was third.

NCISAA soccer

FCD 3, HP Wesleyan 2: Chase Troxell, Kris Dixon, and Kwame Seymour each scored to lead Forsyth Country Day to a quarterfinal win over High Point Wesleyan in the NCISAA 3-A state playoffs last night in Lewisville.
Wesleyan (17-6-4) had a 15-7 advantage in shots, but keeper Marko Mandalinic had 11 saves for FCD.
FCD (18-6) will play Charlotte Latin at 5 p.m. in Friday's semifinals at North Raleigh Christian.

NCHSAA volleyball

Mount Tabor 3, Greensboro Page 0: Anna Logan had 10 kills to help Mount Tabor defeat visiting Greensboro Page 25-11, 25-17, 25-10 in the second round of the Class 4-A tournament.

Alleghany 3, Highlands 0: Molly Grubb had 15 kills to lead Alleghany past Highlands in the second round of the Class 1-A playoffs yesterday.

Alleghany (22-4) won 25-17, 25-13 and 25-19 and will play at home against the Robbinsville-Hendersonville winner on Thursday.

North Surry 3, North Henderson 0: Courtney Campbell had 17 kills and Kara Hodges had 35 assists as North Surry swept North Henderson.

North Surry (29-0) won 25-20, 25-22 and 25-22 and will play the winner of the Bandys-Forbush match Thursday night.

Watauga 3, McDowell 1: Watauga defeated McDowell 25-12, 26-24, 19-25, 25-16 in the second round of the Class 4-A tournament in Boone yesterday.
Watauga (22-3) will play at home Thursday.
