RALEIGH - Former North Carolina Gov. Mike Easley has completed his testimony before the State Board of Elections about his campaign's finances and relationship with political ally McQueen Campbell.

Easley testified for more than four hours Wednesday before being released by the board.

The former two-term Democratic governor contradicted testimony by Campbell, who said Easley suggested to him that he get reimbursed for repairs to Easley's home by filing invoices for airplane flights to the campaign. Campbell also was a pilot.

Easley testified he never said or inferred such a thing to Campbell. He also questioned the number and scope of flights he said Campbell piloted for him.

Board Chairman Larry Leake said Campbell may be recalled as a witness but no decision had been made.
