Construction of Tanger outlet under way in Mebane

GREENSBORO - Tanger Factory Outlet Centers Inc. said yesterday that it is building one of its campuses on 52 acres in Mebane.
Steven B. Tanger, Tanger's president and chief executive, said that the center represents a $60 million capital investment.
The 317,000-square-foot center will be at Exit 154 on Interstates 40 and 85 at Arrowhead Boulevard. It is scheduled to open in late 2010.
It will be the third Tanger center in the state. The others are in Blowing Rock and Nags Head.
The Mebane center will include outlets for Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5th, Banana Republic Factory Store, Coach Factory, Gap Outlet, J. Crew, Michael Kors, BCBG/Girls, Nike Factory Store and Tommy Hilfiger.
