Reading Series: Novelists Sherrie Flick will present readings at 7:30 p.m. in DeTamble Auditorium in Tribble Hall at Wake Forest University. Flick is the author of the novel Reconsidering Happiness. The reading is free. For more information, call 758-5383.

Survivor's Gathering: Next Step Ministries Inc. will have a domestic violence survivor's gathering from 6 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 23 at Goodwill Industries, 2701 University Parkway.

Fundraiser: The Fiddle & Bow Society will have a fundraiser for Blessings Project Foundation from 7 to 11 p.m. on Oct. 23 at Blessings Project Foundation, 823 Reynolda Road. The event will feature food, music and works by local artists. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Rabies Clinic: The Forsyth County Department of Animal Control will have a low-cost rabies clinic from noon to 3 p.m. on Oct. 24 at the Dixie Classic Fairgrounds. The cost is $5 for each pet.
