DALLAS - Bo Levi Mitchell completed 17 of 29 passes for 266 yards and two touchdowns as Southern Methodist beat East Carolina 28-21 last night.
Aldrick Robinson scored on a 96-yard touchdown reception to tie for the longest touchdown pass in SMU history, and the Mustangs (3-2, 2-0 Conference USA) snapped the Pirates' five-game conference winning streak.
Dominique Lindsay led all rushers with 144 yards on 24 attempts for ECU (3-3, 2-1).
The Mustangs scored 21 consecutive points to take a 21-7 lead, capped by safety Rock Dennis' 53-yard interception return with 8:12 left in the third quarter.
Notes: With a 10-yard touchdown run by Dwayne Harris in the second quarter, the Pirates extended their current streak to 146 games without being shut out … The last time ECU was held scoreless was against Syracuse on Oct. 4, 1997, in the Carrier Dome (56-0). … The Pirates had four players with at least one catch for 10 or more yards.
