King hires new fire chief

KING - KING — A longtime firefighter was hired as chief of the King Fire Department last week.
Steven Roberson, who has been associated with the city's fire department since 1994, is scheduled to begin work as chief Oct. 26.
He works now as an assistant fire marshal for Forsyth County and is a lifelong resident of Stoke County.
Roberson is a licensed paramedic and has worked for Stokes County EMS and has served as chief of the Walnut Cove Volunteer Fire Department.
